How to Decide Product Fit
As you build your planogram, or “map” of what goes where, you should test the fit of items.
Also consider the frequency of visits to stock the machine. If you decide on weekly visits, then take their annual usage and divide by 52. Then eliminate items too large to fit in the coil trays. Some Distributors decide to exclude very low cost items and concentrate on “Higher Spend” products.
Some basics others have learned are:
- Leather Driver Gloves- Double 12. Fold in half with crease up and cuff back.
- Assembly Gloves- Single 12. Roll like a pair of socks.
- Safety Glasses like 3M™ 11326-00000 – Double 10 laying flat or a Single 10 standing up.
- Ear Plugs- Suggested for use in a Locker or you could just VMI them.
- Some items vend best when repackaged, in things like Coin Envelopes, CD Sleeves or French fry cups. These packaging items are quite inexpensive and can be reused many times.

- The gloves at the bottom are PIP gloves (Orange) 33-425O/R and the
- Yellow are a Majestic Cut Level 2 3435N series. They are rolled and then cuffed as stated above. The glasses are in the third row and in single coils.
As you launch more machines the process will get easier.
It comes down to putting product into coils to see what works.
